Tamela Mann Inspirational Impact Honor

Tamela Mann is a Grammy® Award Winner, BET® Award winner, Billboard® Music Award Winner, NAACP Image® Award Winner, Gospel Music Stellar® Award Winner, actress, songwriter, producer, and businesswoman. 

Her Billboard No. 1 album Best Days includes the No. 1 Platinum single “Take Me to The King” and received Billboard’s “Album of the Decade” for 2010-2019, in the Gospel category. Tamela’s Billboard No. 1 album One Way garnered two No. 1 singles, including “Change Me” and “God Provides,” which earned the singer her first Grammy® Award in 2017. In 2018, Tamela and her husband, NAACP Image® Award winning actor David Mann, released their first book and joint album, Us Against the World. The book won an NAACP Image® Award for Outstanding Literary Work and the album continues to garner top-charting singles including the Urban AC track “Ups & Downs.” 

Tamela co-starred in the hit comedy series, Tyler Perry’s Meet The Browns, the NAACP Image® Award-winning docu-series, The Manns, the comedy Mann & Wife, It’s A Mann’s World, along with other fan-favorite films and television shows. Tamela appeared in BET’s Madea’s Farewell Stage Play and is reprising her role as “Cora” in Tyler Perry’s “Assisted Living,” with new episodes airing on BET. Her digital series “Mann Family Dinner” debuted fall of 2020, and is on season 3.Tamela starred in the 2021 BET holiday movie Soul Santa and 2022’s Tyler Perry’s A Madea Homecoming on Netflix. In 2023, Tamela will grace movie screens across the country in the Oprah Winfrey/Steven Spielberg theatrical release of The Color Purple.

Most recently, Tamela launched an athleisure apparel line, the Tamela Mann Collection, which is available at TamelaMann.com.

Tamela also heads up the independent music and entertainment label, Tillymann Music Group, which she runs with David. Her Tillymann album Overcomer released summer 2021. The album’s first single and NAACP Image Award winner “Touch From You” went to No. 1 on Billboard’s Gospel radio chart, and is Tamela’s seventh No. 1 single at the format. Her second single “Help Me” featuring The Fellas, also landed at the top of the leaderboard and notched her eighth No. 1 at the format. Her current single “He Did It For Me” is reached No. 1 on the Gospel radio chart, setting another career records as the Gospel artist with the most No. 1’s at this format. Tamela released her new album, Overcomer Deluxe Edition, with 6 new songs including a duet with Yolanda Adams on “Superheroes Prayer” earlier this fall and has been out on the Mann Family fall 30+ city Overcomer tour performing the new songs and her hits to sold-out crowds.
